The Benefits Of Raw Honey

If you know where to buy raw honey, I highly recommend doing so. Raw honey comes straight from the bee's hives and if you are unaware, raw honey has several health benefits and it also tastes great.


1. Contains Nutrients and Antioxidants

The bees gather nectar from many types of flowers. The exact amount of nutrition may vary depending on the flowers that the bees gather honey from. Regardless, honey still contains antioxidants, amino acids, and vitamins.

Natural honey contains the following vitamins and minerals:

  • Zinc

  • Calcium

  • Niacin

  • Pantothenic acid

  • Riboflavin

  • Magnesium

  • Manganese

  • Potassium

  • Phosphorous


2. Healing For Burns and Wounds

Honey is wonderful for healing conditions. In minor burns, after taking care of it, you can apply the honey directly onto the burn/wound or you can soak it in gauze before applying. It's also known for its effectiveness in burns treatment.




3. Fights Infection

Whenever I have a cold and a sore throat, I always make a little honey drink to help soothe my throat. I fill a cup full of hot water and add a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of lemon juice. This drink makes your throat feel much better and it tastes great.



4. Natural Sweetener


Honey is known as a natural sweetener and is sweeter than sugar, which is why using very little can go a long way. There are many options when it comes to having some honey such as mixing it in tea or coffee, spreading it on bread, cooking with it, etc.


I enjoy adding honey in boiled water with lemon juice and a peppermint tea bag, spreading it on toast with peanut butter, and using a bit when I bake cookies or muffins.

  • Can boost the immune system

  • Lowers blood pressure




Properties Of Certain Honey

Acacia honey is often used to sweeten tea or coffee, and cold drinks like milk.

Hawthorn honey is good for nervousness.

Chestnut honey is good for improving blood circulation.
